The laptop comes with a full aluminum exterior housing, the design is quite neat and simple with the HP white logo on the back.
Even though it is not the best HP laptop, its design isn’t that bad for people who go for looks and designs of laptops before purchasing it.

On the right side, you’ll find one Thunderbolt (USB type-c connector), an HP UltraSlim dock connector, an RJ45 port, an HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, a combo headphone/microphone jack, and a WWAN SIM card reader.
Also on the left side, you’ll find a secure USB 3.0 with always-on charging, a lock slot, and a Smart Card Reader.

Moving on to the display, the screen on the basic model of the EliteBook 840, which is 14 inches and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, was disappointing because it was not very bright and didn’t provide an enjoyable viewing experience. Those interested in low-light display screens will feel much more comfortable when using the G5.

The EliteBook 840’s keyboard has backlighting with only two settings. The keys feel solid and make a satisfying click when typing.

The bass and treble balance is just right, allowing each instrument to stand out and creating a really powerful experience. Bang & Olufsen has an app for adjusting the sound to your liking. You can choose from preset options for voice, movies, or music, or you can do a full manual setup if you prefer.
Battery Life
The EliteBook 840 can last for a regular workday. It stayed on for 8 hours and 31 minutes while browsing the web over Wi-Fi. This is slightly better than the average of 8 hours and 20 minutes but not as good as MateBook X (9 hours and 55 minutes). It’s worth mentioning that the EliteBook 840 only lasted for 6 hours and 17 minutes when the Sure View feature was turned on.
