Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a standard loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and gently stir until just combined.
- Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving some for the top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Storage: Store cooled banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for several days or refrigerate for longer storage.
Freezing: Slice and wrap individual pieces before placing them in a freezer-safe bag or container. Thaw before serving.
